Are We Little Gods?

Are we little gods?

The blab it and grab it word of faith preachers keep telling us that we are little gods.  Let us look at the scriptures they use to justify their position.

John 10:34-36:

Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are gods’? If he called them ‘gods,’ to whom the word of God came—and the Scripture cannot be broken—what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’?

Pslams 82:6

I said, “You are gods, And all of you are sons of the Most High.

Yes men are called as gods.  Even Satan is called as the god of this age.  Even the God said that He executed judgment against the gods of Egyptians.

For I will go through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike down all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments — I am the Lord. (Exodus 12:12)

The Lord had also executed judgments on their gods. (Numbers 33:4)

Now I know that the Lord is greater than all the gods; indeed, it was proven when they dealt proudly against the people (Jethro’s testimony). (Exodus 18:11)

According to the above mentioned verses we can also call heathen idols as gods?  What is wrong in calling pagan deities as gods as the scriptures cannot be broken here as well?

DESCRIPTION DOES NOT EQUAL TO PRESCRIPTION

Even if we assume that we could call ourselves as gods why can’t we call satan as god (2 Cor 4:4).  That is also stated in the Bible and the scripture cannot be broken.  We can also call pagan deities as gods as they are also mentioned as gods in the Bible and again scriptures cannot be broken.

We are also called as sons of God but there is a world of a difference between the ONLY begotten Son of God and us.

What is the motive behind the word of faith preachers telling us that we human beings are gods?   Their point is, we human beings are little gods and therefore we have the same kind of creative power like the Almighty God.  Our tongue is a creative force and we can speak things into existence by uttering positive confessions.  That is where they are taking this little god teaching to.

Well, these word of faith preachers are little gods with BIG mouths, probably bigger than Almighty God’s mouth – LOL

Also Almighty God rested on the seventh day after unleashing His creating power for 6 days, however our blab it and grab it preachers confess with their mouth unceasingly without rest.  As we all know many things they blab with their mouths do not come to pass.  Kenneth Hagin blabbed with his mouth that he would live for 135 years but he could not grab it.

So the word of faith movement needs to answer the following questions:

1.  What is the use of calling ourselves as little gods?

2.  Are we going to miss some of God’s blessings if we don’t consider as little gods.

3.  Can Christian women call themselves as little goddesses or is the little god title applies only to Christian men?  Both Psalms 82 and John 10:34-36 are addressed to men!!!

4.  Scriptures cannot be broken if we can be called as gods.  So scriptures cannot be broken if we call Satan as god – right?

5.  If is not wrong to call ourselves as gods because the scriptures cannot be broken then why can’t we call pagan deities as gods?

6.  Is it a command for New Testament Christians to call or consider ourselves as gods?

7.  Why did Apostle Paul never exhort Christians to call themselves as gods?

The word of faith preachers also quote Athanasius, Early Church Fathers and Charles Spurgeon for endorsing calling Christians as gods.  Well, all of these claims are true but none of them exhorted Christians to utter positive confessions with their mouth to exercise their creative power as the word of faith preachers do.

Again DESCRIPTION DOES NOT EQUAL TO PRESCRIPTION

Thanks man for taking the scriptural approach in debunking the outrageous heresy of little gods doctrine.

    umm… I am not

  5. brent Says:

Here’s a twist. A dog gives birth to dogs and birds give bith to birds A human born of a human is not called a ‘little human’ they are full human.

If we are born of God, (and keep in mind we are now spiritual beings having an earthly experience in a decaying body), we are of the ‘godkind’ just as we are of the humankind. You can’t birth something you are not, as clever as God is, that is not the order of the universe. Knowing this demands a higher level of living. before as a ‘christian’ it was easy to excuse my behaviour becuase I was just a fallen creature. No I’m not, I’m not perfect becuase of my body but inside there is soemthign eternal and if I recognise it and let it out, I can be a new creature. If your not much different to who you used to be you are not ‘new’

Second point is we are sons of God, brothers to Christ. Therefore I am of the same family as Christ as God is spirit and my true nature is spirit, I am as he is. I am also therefore a son of God, not ‘The’ Son of God, but ‘a’ son of God, because Christ is the firstborn of many sons and inherits the right as the eldest son (it’s all there in the Bible for you scholars) but a son of God none the less.

It’s the religious people who are deceived just as the Pharisees could not handle the preressurected Jesus saying he and the Father were one.
Also keep in mind that knowing scripture does not make you one with God, even demons know more than the most spiritual humans on earth as they’ve been around much longer – but they aren’t going to heaven.

God is looking not for Christians, (thats not a term God ever created) but for sons. The whole of creation awaits the revealing of the (Christians)… oops, I mean the sons of God. What? Aren’t they here yet? No… they weren’t at the time the Apostles were around which is why Paul wrote that guided by the spirit. When and only when people realise who they really are will the sons of God be revealed.

Women are human, but spirit has no gender and all are sons of God. It’s all there in the Bible. Women have a spirit inside that God refers to as a son of his. If you don’t want to believe it and want to stay being a human having a little spiritual experience, you all have that choice. I am a spiritual being having a human experience. There is a different level of living to that. Jesus saw himself as a spiritual being having an earthly experience for a purpose and he’s my brother. Brother! same father, same family, same species (spirit).

To summerise I don’t call myself a little human or a little god. I am fully humankind and godkind and both understand it and am humbled by it at the same time. Now I understand more of why Jesus lambasted the religious…

If you don’t see yourself as of Gods family then maybe your aren’t but there is no such thing as ‘little gods’ and and I am not a little god either, I am godkind, that part of me that will exist forever even when my body is gone and only soemthing bon of God can live forever.

    • WoF Unveiled Says:

Hi Brent, Thank you for comment. I don’t understand your point. I agree that we are also God kind, made in God’s image. satan is also called as the god of this age. Does it mean we can call satan as god?

“For even if there are so-called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many lords, 6yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him,” (1 Cor. 8:5-6, NASB).

      Isaiah 43:10 (NASB95)

10 “You are My witnesses,” declares the Lord, “And My servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and believe Me
And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed,
And there will be none after Me.

      Isaiah 44:6 (NASB95)

6 “Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: ‘I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me.

We as Christians have God given authority over demons, diseases and difficult situations

      • brent Says:

Correct. God is God. Your biological father poroduced you. he was human you are human, but your not your dad nor do you have his authority.
But when God has children are they not of his kind? Are yu suggesting God produces something different than the order he set up himself.
Scripture is easily taken but even demons used scripture. the question here is if we are sons birthed from God, we are of ‘his’ kind’ and are above the angels. We aren’t human, superhuman, angels, dogs or aliens.

      • Brent Says:

Satan is of the god kind too. I thought that would go without saying. he was created by God, but is lower than us. Isn;t that what the Bible teaches?

It’s not a hard teaching to know who your Creator and Father is and still accept your are of his kind. It’s sunday school stuff really.

    • WoF Unveiled Says:

Brent, according to Jesse DuPlantis, Jesus never asked anyone to believe that He was the Son of God?!?!

Also Paul White & Larry Husch: Jesus not the ONLY begotten Son of God?

      Your answer please!

      Bi&Gi

  6. brent Says:

    1. What is the use of calling ourselves as little gods?

No use, we aren’t ‘little gods’ we are gods (but not God)

    2. Are we going to miss some of God’s blessings if we don’t consider as little gods.

If you live at a lower level than you could yes, but once again ‘little gods’ is a false term.

    3. Can Christian women call themselves as little goddesses or is the little god title applies only to Christian men? Both Psalms 82 and John 10:34-36 are addressed to men!!!

Women have a spirit. God calls those spirits sons of God.

    4. Scriptures cannot be broken if we can be called as gods. So scriptures cannot be broken if we call Satan as god – right?

Satan is a fallen angel. We are greater than the angels. The Bible refers to Satan as the god of this age. Satan will be destroyed by God.

    5. If is not wrong to call ourselves as gods because the scriptures cannot be broken then why can’t we call pagan deities as gods?

    Question makes no sense

    6. Is it a command for New Testament Christians to call or consider ourselves as gods?

It’s not what you call yourself, it who you are. Do you going around saying “hi, I’m human!”? Where is it a command to call ourself Christian. That term was one given by the world not the church or God.

    7. Why did Apostle Paul never exhort Christians to call themselves as gods?

Because you don’t need to see above.

All your questions show a certain ignorance the same way I used to have. You might eventually get it you might not. It wont mean you wont get to heaven, its just you miss out on a higher way of living and acknowledgement from God as having realised who you are before you stand before him and realise what the scritpures actually said if we got past the legalism part and used our spirit and heart instead of our mind. The mind cannot understand spiritual things unless revelation comes, thats they way of God. Until then faith is all we have to grasp and even then some can’t handle that!

  7. WoF Unveiled Says:

    1. What is the use of calling ourselves as little gods?

Brent: No use, we aren’t ‘little gods’ we are gods (but not God)

Bi&Gi: Good. So what do you gain by calling yourself as a god?

    2. Are we going to miss some of God’s blessings if we don’t consider as little gods.

Brent: If you live at a lower level than you could yes, but once again ‘little gods’ is a false term.

Bi&Gi: I don’t live at a lower level. I am a Charismatic myself and do daily spiritual warfare. I know who I am in Christ and declare it openly.

    3. Can Christian women call themselves as little goddesses or is the little god title applies only to Christian men? Both Psalms 82 and John 10:34-36 are addressed to men!!!

Brent: Women have a spirit. God calls those spirits sons of God.

Bi&Gi: I agree but my questions is, can a Christian woman call herself as “goddess”

    4. Scriptures cannot be broken if we can be called as gods. So scriptures cannot be broken if we call Satan as god – right?

Brent: Satan is a fallen angel. We are greater than the angels. The Bible refers to Satan as the god of this age. Satan will be destroyed by God.

Bi&Gi: Even though satan is a fallen angel, he is still described as the god of this age. The subject here is whether we can call ourselves as gods or not just because we are described as gods in Pslams 82. Description does not equal prescription.

    5. If is not wrong to call ourselves as gods because the scriptures cannot be broken then why can’t we call pagan deities as gods?

    Brent: Question makes no sense

Bi&Gi: Why not? Bible itself calls heathen deities as gods:

    Exodus 12:12

“against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgement: I am the Lord.”

    6. Is it a command for New Testament Christians to call or consider ourselves as gods?

Brent: It’s not what you call yourself, it who you are. Do you going around saying “hi, I’m human!”? Where is it a command to call ourself Christian. That term was one given by the world not the church or God.

Bi&Gi: I call myself as an elect, child of God, redeemed, justified and santified. Is that not enough?

    7. Why did Apostle Paul never exhort Christians to call themselves as gods?

Brent: Because you don’t need to see above.

Bi&Gi: This is not legalism. Calling ourselves is arrogance. You can accept the description that you are a god but it is not a command for you to follow. Description does not equal to prescription. I am a Charismatic myself. We are adopted sons/daughters and God does not procreate! WoF is a deception and WoF also teaches that tithing is a law of prosperity which is not true.

    To Brent:
Perhaps you should “blab and grab” the gift of correct spelling!

  9. Brent Says:

Dogs give birth to dogs, whales give birth ot whales, humans give birth to humans and Gods give birth to gods.

No one has said they are THE Onlky begotten Son of God, but the Bible tells us we are ‘sons’ of God by birthright, although Jesus is the firstborn sons with all the rights of a firstborn as planned from the beginning (I assume peopel actually read their Bible and learn the point of the OT teachings in relation to the new?).

If we are brothers to Christ then we have the same Father and are of his kind (God/Spirit).

Only the religious nutters have trouble with this simplist of all Christian teachings

  10. Brent Says:

    Ron Pasco.

Thankfully spelling isn’t something God cares about more than understanding who and what we are. But I’m glad you pointed it out though – it shows your grasping at anything to dispute…

    • Ron Pasco Says:

My spelling comment was not meant to condemn, but to exhort. There are many people out there who would find any fault in our witness as an excuse to cry, “See, these Christians are an ignorant kind. I won’t be influenced by them.” We must always be aware of how we present ourselves to the world. God bless you and your ministry.
